Outpatient Mental Health Treatment in New Jersey

Real Support, On Your Schedule.

Clinical care that fits around your life, not the other way around.

Our outpatient mental health clinic gives New Jersey adults — from North Jersey to South Jersey, serving all counties in the Garden State — scheduled individual therapy and psychiatric care on a weekly cadence, while you keep working, parenting, and living at home. This is the most flexible level of outpatient mental health care: ideal for stable, non-crisis needs or as a step down after a more intensive program. When symptoms call for more structure, we can step you up to our IOP.

How Outpatient Mental Health Treatment Works

Outpatient mental health treatment runs on a weekly cadence built around your schedule. You meet with the same primary therapist for individual sessions, and when medication is part of your plan, you see a psychiatric provider for ongoing management. Because it is the lightest-touch level of outpatient care, it is well suited to stable, non-crisis needs and to people stepping down from a more intensive program who want to keep their progress steady.

Two things make outpatient care work for New Jersey adults: flexibility and continuity. Telehealth lets clients from North Jersey to South Jersey keep their appointments around work, school, and family without a commute, and seeing the same clinician each week builds real momentum. If your symptoms outgrow weekly sessions, we can step you up to our IOP — and step you back down as you stabilize, so your level of care always matches where you are.

New Jersey Outpatient Mental Health Treatment — Frequently Asked Questions

What is outpatient mental health treatment?

Outpatient mental health treatment is the most flexible level of care: scheduled individual therapy and, when needed, psychiatry and medication management on a weekly cadence while you live at home and keep working. It suits stable, non-crisis needs or a step-down from a more intensive program, giving you consistent clinical support without putting the rest of your life on hold.

Outpatient vs IOP — which one do I need?

Outpatient care is weekly therapy and psychiatry for stable, non-crisis needs, while an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides roughly nine to fifteen hours of structured group and individual therapy across several days each week. If weekly sessions are not enough to keep you steady, IOP adds structure; as you stabilize, you can step back down to outpatient. Our admissions team can help you decide.

How often are outpatient sessions?

Most outpatient clients meet with their therapist about once a week, with psychiatric or medication-management appointments scheduled separately based on your plan. Frequency is set with your care team at intake and adjusted as you progress — some clients taper to every other week as they stabilize, while others add sessions during a harder stretch.

Do you offer telehealth across New Jersey?

Yes. In addition to in-person care at our Laurel Springs location, Victory Bay offers telehealth so adults from North Jersey to South Jersey can attend outpatient sessions securely from home. Telehealth makes it easier to keep appointments around work and family. Our admissions team can explain which format fits your situation and how virtual sessions are structured.

Which insurance plans does Victory Bay accept?

Victory Bay accepts Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, and Aetna. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time. Because coverage varies by plan, our admissions team verifies your specific benefits before you start so you understand any out-of-pocket costs in advance. Call us and we will check your coverage quickly.
